We Are the Memory Makers

Thanksgiving is a time for gratitude, reflection, and connection — a season that reminds us of the power of shared moments. But for many of us in the private club industry, Thanksgiving rarely looks the same as it does for everyone else.

While others gather around their own tables, we’re often in our dining rooms, kitchens, and event spaces setting the scene for our members’ celebrations.

And honestly, most of us wouldn’t have it any other way —

because at our core, we are memory makers.

The Heart of Hospitality

There’s a unique kind of beauty in what we do. While the world celebrates, we orchestrate.

We polish the silver, carve the turkey, and greet every member and their family as if they’re stepping into our own home. We make sure the dining room hums with warmth, the service feels seamless, and every detail reflects the care behind it.

Behind every glowing centerpiece and every child’s laughter is a team of professionals dedicated to creating moments that become stories told for years to come.

The Sacrifice Behind the Celebration

There’s no denying the personal tradeoff. While our members celebrate with their families, our families wait for us. We miss the early-morning parades, the mid-afternoon football games, and the golden-hour gatherings around our own tables.

Some of us celebrate on different days or at different times. We adapt because we know the magic we create for our members matters deeply. Our passion for service — and the pride we take in bringing joy to others — is what makes this industry special.

This calling isn’t for everyone, but for those of us who choose it, it reflects who we are.

Leading with Gratitude: Making Memories for Your Team

As leaders, we know the same hospitality we show our members should extend to our teams. Thanksgiving reminds us that while we create memories for our members, we also have the privilege — and responsibility — to create them for our staff.

A simple gesture can mean everything:

  • A handwritten thank-you note in the breakroom
  • A shared staff meal before service
  • A few extra minutes of genuine appreciation after the last event wraps
  • A fresh-baked pie to take home and share with their family

Small acts of recognition remind your team that their efforts are seen, valued, and meaningful. These are the moments they’ll remember long after the season ends.

The Power of What We Do

The work we do goes far beyond food and service. We are in the business of belonging.

We create spaces where families connect, friendships deepen, and traditions take root.

Every child’s first Thanksgiving buffet, every multigenerational photo in front of the fireplace, every heartfelt “thank you” from a member — these are the moments that define our legacy.

As club professionals, we don’t just manage events. We create memories that last long after the day has passed.
